Hyderabad Police Launch ‘Operation Kavach’ to Reinforce Citywide Law and Order
Hyderabad Police launched a major late-night security initiative, Operation Kavach, deploying nearly 5,000 personnel across 150 key locations to strengthen law and order. The citywide cordon-and-search drive aims to curb crime, enhance vigilance and reinforce public safety measures.
According to officials, intensive checks were deployed simultaneously across 150 key junctions and public spaces identified as critical for crime prevention and urban safety. Nearly 5,000 personnel from multiple wings—including Law & Order, Traffic, Task Force, Armed Reserve, Blue Colts units and regular patrol teams—were mobilised to execute the citywide operation.
Senior police officers stated that the drive is intended to deter criminal activity, enhance nighttime vigilance and reassure residents about their safety. The checks involved verification of suspicious movements, monitoring of vehicular activity, and proactive engagement with local communities. Authorities emphasised that such operations are part of continuous efforts to maintain peace, improve response readiness and strengthen overall public security infrastructure.
As the city continues to expand at a rapid pace, police officials noted that large-scale coordinated actions like Operation Kavach are crucial for preventing emerging threats and ensuring Hyderabad remains a secure urban environment. The operation’s scope and manpower deployment underscore the administration’s commitment to preserving stability and public confidence.
